I consider each of them to be a winner, overcoming his/her own difficulties and achieving the rank of 1st Dan Black Belt.
It is especially impressive to note that this group consisted of members from ages 9 to 65.

October 2004 - Korea School Opening
Dear members,
I just returned from Korea on Monday.  I was there to help with a successful opening of our branch school and to host a reception.  Everything went very well.  I will display the pictures at the school soon.

First of all, I was happy to see Santos and Arlene again.  They came to Korea from Singapore to celebrate the opening of our Korea branch.  They came with Isabel (their baby – really cute) and Aras, one of their Black Belt students who originally came from Shanghai.

I am happy to have them spearhead our efforts in Asia. It was also great to have David Horrigan visit from Boston.  He seemed to really enjoy his trip to Korea.  I also arranged some meetings for him so that he could meet with people in his line of work.

The reception was really nice.  I kept it relatively small (about 70 people), but first class all the way.  I did the ribbon-cutting with my mother, Dr. Nam (Chairman of Klueber), Dr. Choi (Chairman of Korea Zinc) and Mr. J. N. Lee (Managing Director of Sports Seoul Newspaper).

We then held a brief opening ceremony, followed by a reception.  Everyone seemed to really enjoy the event.  I noticed the event is featured on Mooto as a news item.  You can go to Mooto.com and see it in the news section. (http://www.mooto.com/kor/webzine/news_view.asp?news_no=3479)

The school in Korea is now open.  I hope many of you will have the opportunity to visit our school in Korea and meet with students and instructors over there.

I want to arrange a little get-together each time someone from here visits our school in Korea, so just let me know in advance and we will make the arrangements.

The next ten years should be an exciting time for us as we work to establish a global network of our schools.  I hope all of you will find a way to share in the effort and excitement.

Sincerely,

 Jae H. Kim
